Stein Club endorses candidates
In the upcoming May 18 primary race, the Gertrude Stein Political Club has endorsed the following candidates:
For US Senate, Democrat Joe Sestak received the group’s nod based on his strong voting record and solid answers to the Club’s questions. An honorable mention was awarded to Arlen Spectre.
In the governor’s race, Joe Hoeffel was endorsed for governor and Johnathan Saidel for lieutenant governor. Both are Democrats.
Joe Preston, Dan Frankel and challenger Tonya Payne have been endorsed for Pennsylvania State Representatives. Preston and Frankel were chosen for their unwavering support for LGBT and women’s issues. Payne has shown strong support for reproductive rights and domestic violence prevention, as well as LGBT rights.
Three candidates received endorsements for Democratic State Committee. These are the people who help set the agenda for the Pennsylvania State Democratic Party and vote to decide which candidates will be endorsed by the party. The Club has selected Pamela Macklin, Robert Vincent Frank, Barbara Ernsberger and Marvin Liebowitz.
