Volunteers make IMPACT on PATF

Deloitte, a major international accounting and consulting firm with offices in Pittsburgh, recently noted two important landmarks.

First, it was the 10th anniversary of IMPACT, their national day of community service.

Second, for the first time Deloitte personal were given the opportunity to work on projects directly supporting the LGBT community in Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force was the benefactor of Deloitte’s volunteers, who processed client documents to help PATF comply with federal and state legislation, organized and restocked the PATF Food Pantry, reorganized PATF Financial Records Storage and prepared safe-sex packets.

Rich Voller, PATF board member, estimated the value of the Deloitte time on IMPACT Day to be in excess of $25,000. PATF will be able to use this toward a HUD requirement for matching “in kind” support.

Voller added, “Deloitte’s work has made a significant impact on the day-to-day life of the organization and its employees.”
